The Mystery Tree is a fun way to learn about the animals on Edisto Island. Each of the featured twelve months highlights an animal that is native to this South Carolina island and just might be passing by this tree. (Plus 3 bonus animals) The Mystery Tree also introduces a secret surrounding this lone tree in the Edisto Island marsh. Delicate watercolor illustrations by Dorothy Keach detail the whimsical decorations which have mysteriously appeared on the tree. Dorothy's masterful paintings evoke the shifting palette of colors in the Edisto Island skies and marshes as the seasons change.
